Felt like sharing what happened on my 20th birthday celebration, so here goes......
My actual birthday was 31st March, but due to exam reasons, instead of pre-celebration, I had a post-celebration. Started clearing up my room on the 30th, threw away lotsa junk n' unwanted stuff, vacuumed my room until no single speck of dust to be found. Cleared away everything lying idle on my computer desk and study table, to make room for space, just blank, empty space.
On the day itself, last saturday. The whole event began. My brother's friends arrived much earlier than my pals. My first friend to reach was Wei Jian, my ex-classmate from VS. Following up, james, yupei, sing ju, hanwei, johnny and yanting reached subsequently at my place. I guess the food that was catered that day was acceptable, as I didn't hear much complaints from guests and the like. Unfortunately, this year, a few people didn't turn up, my uncles and aunties as one of them were at a trip in Taipei, while the other were having another party, my cousin's 21st birthday. Nevertheless, I still received red packets from them, though they didn't turn up. However, it was quite well unexpected that my grandmother was not present, she said she was feeling unwell, so only my grandfather and my two uncles came.
Wei Jian and James were the first duo to leave my house. I walked with them to the nearest bus stop and waved my goodbyes. Afer which, I returned to the party.
I don't know how to describe my "so-called" pals, as they ransacked my computer files, and they found out about my little Communication Skills 1 folder. What was in there? Don't ask me, ask them la~ Kanna sai, made me so embarassed and nervous sia~
Then after awhile, after the cake-cutting, Yu Pei was also beggining to leave, so I walked him to the bus stop and accompanied him while waiting for his bus to arrive. I returned home, only to find out that Sing Ju has made his silent departure without me knowing. Now, only yanting, johnny and hanwei were still around. Before I could take a rest, yanting told me that he's going home, so I stood up and walked him downstairs. He knew that I was wore out from the 2 walks to the bus stops, so he eased my plight by just letting me accompany him down the lift to the void deck.
Back up, most of my guests had already went home. Only some adults were still around playing mahjong. Thus, hanwei, johnny, ping lon and me decided to play mahjong at the comfort of my cosy little cubicle. The games were very slow, mostly due to my fault. We played from 11 to around 4 in the morning, just 1 round of mahjong. We played with chips, no money involved, and I emerged 3rd, pretty lousy for an amateur like me. Needless to say, hanwooooooooiii was the champion lor, damn qian4 bian3 lol!!~
After the mahjong, johnny and hanwei wanted to go over to my brother's room to play PS2, so I bo bian help them set up the console lor. They played Vampire Night, while I went to have my relaxing shower. I think maybe I stayed in the bathroom too long, cause when I came out, johnny told me that they had already finished the game, and hanwei was lying on the floor asleep in my brother's room.
My cousin slept on my bed, so I spread mattress on the floor to sleep lor. Didn't expect hanwei to come into my room halfway, snatching my blanket and pillow, leaving me with nothing but an awkward and uncomfortable sleeping posture, which I had no choice, but to pretend that I was sound asleep, to not make him feel pai seh...
It was after a short wink that johnny woke me up and asked me to open the door for him to leave the house, at 6am. Initially, we decided to go to Mustafa in the morning to walk around, but seems that the sleepy bug caught hanwei and me, and the whole matter was pushed aside by our exhuasted bodies.
The next morning, we woke up at 11 plus, that's when hanwei received a call from his mother that he's supposed to go for the Qing Ming thingie that morning, and he's expected to be at his granny's by a certain time.
So, I accompanied hanwei to his waiting place, which was Ho Kee (Tim Sum) @ Geylang/Aljunied. We ordered a soya bean drink and beancurd jelly, as the weather was very very hot, and the heat was excruciatingly unbearable. Moments later, hanwei's vehicle arrived, and I waved goodbye to my good pal.
It was quite an memorable and unforgettable birthday, especially with the mahjong session.
